I
was really touched by the pupils' response to the news coverage of Stephen
Sutton recently and thought it would be great to use Stephen's story for their
SMSC development. I showed my year nine group a video Stephen made about his
'bucket list'. I asked them to think about some of the things they would like
to achieve and experience in their lives. They jotted their ideas down on sticky
notes and the responses were great. They ranged from, "ride a
giraffe" to "take my family on a luxury holiday because they have
supported me my whole life". Here is a picture of our 'bucket list' board
in commemoration of Stephen's life!

Alas, poor Shakespeare! I knew him, Horatio: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! my gorge rims at it.
Heareth this: some of mineth minion Shakesperean lines:
"With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come" -The Merchant of Venice
"Pleasure and action make the hours seem short" -Othello
"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool" -As You Like It
